Mike Harris is an accomplished clarinet teacher at the Dunkley School of Music, where he passionately shares his expertise with students eager to learn. He completed his bachelor’s degree in music education from Bradley University and a master’s from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. This education allowed Mike to hone his skills and deepen his understanding of music theory and performance.
During his time in Illinois, Mike had the opportunity to teach a diverse range of subjects, including band, choir, and general music. He cultivated a love for music among his students by emphasizing a strong technical foundation while encouraging creativity and expression.
After relocating to Idaho, Mike redirected his creative energies toward songwriting and performing with various indie rock bands. His performances at notable events such as the Treefort Music Fest and Flipside Music Fest have allowed him to showcase his talent to wider audiences. Additionally, he has participated in the Morrison Center Summer Concert Series, contributing to the vibrant local music scene.
Beyond his work in contemporary music, Mike also values classical music and regularly performs with the Canyon County Symphony. This involvement sharpens his skills and enables him to connect with other musicians who share his passion for classical compositions.
