Mark Olsen is a dedicated instructor at Dunkley School of Music. As a longtime performer and educator, he brings over 19 years of teaching experience to his role as a guitar, bass, ukulele, banjo, and mandolin teacher. Mark Olsen works with students of all ages and levels, creating a fun, personalized path to musical growth.
Mark has taught at some of the best music stores in the region since the early 1990s and spent 20 years performing in a touring band. Over the course of his career, he’s played more than 1,000 shows and even won a Battle of the Bands in 1993. In college, he studied music theory through multiple non-major courses, giving him a strong foundation in musical structure and composition.
Mark tailors each lesson to the student’s individual goals, supporting their musical interests while gently challenging them to grow. He encourages creativity and exploration, and when students are ready, he helps them begin writing songs of their own. Mark Olsen’s approach as a Dunkley Music teacher focuses on fun, flexibility, and steady progress at every level.
