Jared Knight is a dynamic composer, pianist, and electronic music educator at Dunkley School of Music in Meridian, Idaho. In addition, Jared has collaborated with ensembles including the Boise State Jazz Orchestra, Sinta Quartet, TaiHei Ensemble, and Delgani String Quartet. His piece Shrub, co-composed with Collin McFadden, was recorded by the Boise State Jazz Orchestra.


Education and Teaching Philosophy

Jared earned his Bachelor of Music in Composition from Boise State University, studying with top educators like Dr. David Biedenbender, Dr. Sam L. Richards, and Dr. Del Parkinson. He began his studies at BYU–Idaho and later pursued graduate studies in composition and intermedia music technology at the University of Oregon.

As a teacher, Jared is known for being patient, creative, and student-centered. He helps students build strong technical foundations while encouraging exploration and self-expression. Whether you’re a beginner or a developing artist, he’ll guide you toward your goals.
