About Dr. Matt Puzan
Dr. Matt Puzan teaches guitar at the Dunkley School of Music in Meridian. He began learning Bluegrass at age six, playing alongside his father at weekend festivals. As a teen, he discovered rock music through a forgotten stack of records and an electric guitar, sparking a passion that led to garage bands and gigs across Los Angeles.

Education and Musical Background
Matt holds a Bachelor’s in Guitar Performance, a Master’s in Music Composition, and a Doctorate in Music Theory. He also studied Classical and Jazz in college and earned a Teaching Certificate for public school instruction.

Performance Experience
In the 1980s and 1990s, Matt played regularly in L.A.’s rock and metal club scene. He later toured with punk and cover bands and contributed to studio projects in Southern California.

Teaching in Idaho
Since moving to Boise in 2000, Matt has operated a private teaching studio and continues to perform with local bands. At Dunkley Music, he shares decades of real-world experience with students of all levels.
