🥁 Boe Adams — Drum Teacher at Dunkley School of Music

Byron “Boe” Adams is a talented and dedicated drum teacher at Dunkley School of Music. His love for rhythm began early, growing up in a musical household where melodies filled the air. Boe’s mother was a pianist and organist who insisted on regular lessons, planting the seeds of musical appreciation. With two older brothers who also played instruments—one of them a skilled drummer—Boe was surrounded by inspiration.

At 13, he began sitting in at gigs with his brothers, where he got his first taste of live performance. That early encouragement helped shape his lifelong passion for music.

From the Stage to the Studio

Boe’s musical journey took a big leap when he joined the band Mirrors, performing across eastern Idaho and even filming a music video for MTV. After touring and performing in several bands, he knew music was more than a hobby—it was a calling.

He enrolled at Musicians Institute (MIT) to study drums more formally and develop his technique. Later, after moving to Boise, he studied jazz and music education with respected local drummer Patrick Kurdy, refining both his playing and teaching approaches.

A Teacher Who Meets Students Where They Are

For the past 24 years, Boe has shared his love of drumming as a private teacher and active performer in the Treasure Valley. As a lifelong learner and mentor, Boe Adams understands that every student has a unique learning style.

He tailors each lesson to the individual—helping students of all ages and backgrounds progress at their own pace. Boe’s calm and encouraging manner helps students feel comfortable while building confidence in their musical abilities.

Lessons That Inspire

Boe creates engaging and personalized lesson plans focused on rhythm, technique, creativity, and self-expression. His goal is to make learning drums both fun and meaningful. By recognizing his students’ strengths and adapting to their needs, he increases their chances of success and joy in music.

Whether you’re picking up sticks for the first time or working on advanced grooves, Boe Adams at Dunkley School of Music will guide your drumming journey with skill, patience, and heart.
