Guitar

Diane Goodwin, B.M.

Mrs. Goodwin grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area. As a daughter of an accomplished jazz musician, music was a way of life. The singer-songwriting folk music of Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young, James Taylor, Joni Mitchell, Dan Fogelberg, Jackson Browne, as well as jazz guitarist Joe Pass were very influential in her early years.

Mrs. Goodwin holds a Bachelor of Music degree in classical guitar performance. She studied in the studio of international concert guitarist George Sakellariou. She also studied a semester in Hawaii where her love of Hawaiian music and the ukulele were formed. Mrs. Goodwin has performed in numerous venues in the Bay Area, Hawaii, S.L.C. and Boise.

She is a lover of music education for all ages and has helped in the Boise and Meridian school districts with guitar, orchestra, and choral groups, as well as teaching guitar at the Arts West school in Eagle, Idaho. Mrs. Goodwin currently has a private studio at Dunkley Music teaching guitar and ukulele.  Many of her former students have successful music careers of their own.  Mrs. Goodwin loves spending time with her family...and swimming...especially in the ocean.
