Lorie Marmon Scherer

Lorie Marmon Scherer is a founding member and Principal cellist of The Meridian Symphony Orchestra, a position she has held since its inception in 1991 and has been a featured soloist performing the Lalo Cello Concerto and Haydn Cello Concert. She is also a founding member and performer with the Boise Baroque Orchestra. Lorie has maintained HollowWood Cello Studio for 25 years and teaches beginning and intermediate students in Caldwell and Meridian studios. She has performed with many local groups including Hymns of Thanksgiving, Opera Idaho, Millennial Choirs and Orchestra , Music Week, and The Boise Philharmonic Orchestra. Lorie has worked continuously to expand her repertoire, technique and musicianship and collaborating in performance and study with other professional musicians. Currently, she is arranging music to establish an adult student cello choir ensemble. In addition, she owns a printing company, Treasure Craft, which was formed by her father, Loren Marmon, in 1953. Lorie and her husband of 45 years reside in Caldwell and have 3 daughters and 9 grandchildren. Other interests include photography, painting, and restoring their 1910 farm house.
