Mr. Alexis Feo-Fernández, M.A., A.B.D

 

Mr. Feo-Fernández has appeared in recitals and with chamber ensembles and orchestras throughout the United States, Turkey, Venezuela, and his native Cuba where he made several recordings for Cuban National Radio and Television. He made his debut at age eighteen performing Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No. 1 with the Matanzas Symphony for Cuban National Radio. Also in Cuba, Alexis won second prize in the UNEAC National Piano Competition, as well as first prize in the ISA National Piano Festival and the Amadeo Roldán National Piano Competition. He was also a competitor in the Gina Bachauer International Piano Competition and was a finalist in the Teresa Carreño International Piano Competition.

Alexis was the winner in the graduate division of Boise State University’s Concerto-Aria competition. He was also the graduate division winner of the University of Memphis Concerto Competition, as well as the first prize winner of the university’s first Mozart Piano Sonata and PianoSolo competitions. In 2009, Alexis was invited to be a member of the jury at the 4th International Pera Piano Festival and Competition in Istanbul, Turkey.

Alexis received his Bachelor of Music Performance from the University of Havana and his Master of Music Performance from Boise State University in Boise, Idaho. He did his doctoral studies at the University of Memphis, Rudi E. Scheidt School of Music, where he studied with and was assistant to Victor Asunción.
